Protek Multi-Purpose Exterior Wood Preserver penetrates wood quickly and deep into inner layers. It regulates moisture and provides an adhesive surface for subsequent treatment with finishing paints or stains. As well as active ingredients against fungi and insects it contains an alkyd binder that forms a primer coat with excellent application properties and a short drying time.

You should treat the timber of your shed annually to protect it from the elements and prolong the lifespan of the building. Ensuring that a protective treatment is regularly applied is also a requirement of the 10-year guarantee, see here for more details.

Preparation

Surfaces should be scrubbed with a stiff brush and warm soapy water to remove any old treatments, make sure that all mould or algae is removed, then rinse well and allow timber to dry.

Application

Apply by synthetic brush designed for water-borne products, spreading out thinly and evenly along wood texture.
This preserver is designed to be a wood primer and needs a weather-resistant top-coat. For best results use Protek Wood Stain and Protect

Always allow the previous coat to dry completely before applying the next.

It is recommended to apply 2-3 coats for optimum protection.
